![]() ![]() Nevertheless, I wanted to report this issue as the raw amount of messages (and data as well) seems unintentional. I'd also like to point out that, upon removing those members temporarily from the raid group and the instance, the lag we were experiencing did not go away. When I monitor this idling in my order hall, it doesn't show up for the people usually 'spamming' It appears to only be with people who are in your party/raid. WOW RAID ALERT CHAT UPDATEI asked everyone who was spamming messages to update to 10.69, and that did NOT solve the issue. Not everyone using elvui was 'spamming' messages. The people having ElvUI spam here are Legitpandake, Drizza, Gorthir and Gruth) I have a couple of screenshots from the addon hosted on imgur ( right here), my character is Shagrakk here and while im passing more data than others, this is not ElvUI related (I'm also lootmaster and I think the spamalyzer addon will just naturally log more messages passing through the one actually using it). The biggest thing I've noticed using this addon is that for certain people, ElvUI seems to be passing a shitload of messages compared to other addons. In trying to mitigate this and after talking to blizzard support, Ive installed the addon 'Spamalyzer' to monitor addons passing messages (our working theory was that certain addons were spamming the raid group for whatever reason). Because there are actual people (presumably) playing each character, perfection is entirely impossible. Our raid group is having some severe lag issues during normal/heroic raiding with larger raid groups (25-30 people), and we've had this since the launch of the Antorus raid. Some people will make more mistakes than others. You can’t tell people to just “stop making mistakes” either. You just have the addon doing the dirty work for you. The fact is, simply by having that addon, you are giving people crap for their mistakes. It makes me feel like I am a terrible player, and frankly, it makes me more likely to commit more errors as the instance progresses rather than fewer. It feels like I’m being judged, and that kills any enjoyment I might get out of the game. I don’t need some random stranger (or their addon) in a group telling me that I did that. Maybe I don’t notice a mechanic or don’t react quickly enough. I raid on a Heroic/Mythic level, and I know I’m not a terrible player, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t make mistakes for a variety of reasons. However when I’m running in pugs, an addon announcing that I just took X amount of damage every time it happens, that would come across as rude, elitist, and/or condescending. My raid leader has an addon that announces who died to what mechanic, regardless of whether the mechanic was avoidable or not. ![]() My personal take is that while I don’t mind that sort of thing (provided it’s restrained to the instance chat channel) in a group of people that I’m familiar with. On the other hand, just the fact that I have this addon is negatively affecting some of my groups. On one hand, my attitude is “If you’re upset something is announcing your mistakes, stop making mistakes.” I’m not giving people crap for their mistakes. ![]() In two groups, just the fact that the addon is announcing their mistakes, they get very upset and aggressive. A few groups notice the summary at the end, and are proud or casually disappointed with their performance. The vast majority of my groups (90%+) never mention the addon.
